I entered this program a broken mess of a man. I believed in God already, but I thought it was just a gut feeling that kept me from serious danger. Well it wasn't my gut it was God. And one of the leaders there named Brian Neener explained that to me. Coming here saved my life and my soul. My opinion of the program is that while it's an AMAZING experience, I felt like there was another power there. Greed. And greed is not from God. I personally saw with my own eyes a brother crying and snotting trying to find the words to ask God for forgiveness with all of us having a hand on him, and the leader had his watch turned upside-down on his wrist because it was close to time for us to make pallets. Also when my wife and kids would come to visit on the weekends there's was an old man "spiritual leader" that would make passes at her when I wasn't around. Numerous other things I saw that I'll just leave alone. Bottom line is they seem more concerned about money than helping men actually recover. That's probably why the average income there is over $100,000 yearly. Yet with all that it was a necessary step for me in my journey to sobriety, and God really does use everything for good.

  • I entered into Dunklin in November of 1997 a bad alcoholic and crack addict who had just accepted Jesus in July of that year, I walked in broken and beaten, not knowing who Jesus really was much less myself. I graduated 9 months later in Aug 1998 a new man, mentally, and spiritually. Since that time I have be come a mental health therapist and addictions specialist and spend a fruitful life giving back. I really feel blessed as I got to know brother Mickey like a grandfather and was blessed to have Lou and Lil Carey as my spiritual parents. I do believe the commitment is a year now and I recommend the program so highly.

Our son was graciously accepted. He had a terrible addiction. We thought a religious program would be best for him as we are Christian and nothing else had worked. We received a call about 2 months in to come and get him. We of course had high expectations. We came to get him. He tells us they were convincing him that God himself speaks to them and him. We couldn't believe what we heard, and supposedly he was a problem because of that from what he told us. This was the longest time he had been sober, so we are thankful for that. But please be careful, when you send someone here

  • My husband graduated from Dunklin just recently and he is unrecognizable to me from the man he was 10 months ago. God has redeemed our marriage through the ministry at Dunklin. We were able to take family recovery and advanced marriage classes every weekend, and I was able to take part in Inner Healing sessions for myself there. I'm so thankful for every person there who listened to us, loved on us, and led us to what God had for our family. We are so blessed to have been a part of the incredible work God is doing at Dunklin.
